DJ YESYESことDaham Parkは、韓国ソウルを拠点に活動するDJ／キュレーター／レーベル運営者。
2012年より音楽レーベルHelicopter Recordsを主宰し、音楽の紹介と流通、コミュニティ形成を横断する実践を継続している。
2025年8月からは乙支路4街にて写真ギャラリーCORDと共同で空間運営を開始し、レコードストアHelicopter Recordsもスタートさせた。
2015年にはSOI48との関わりを契機に、アジア各地の音楽を紹介するAsian Music Partyをソウルで立ち上げ、現在まで継続的に企画を行っている。また2017年からは、Boyeon Marta Shinと共にアジア全域の実験的／即興的／インディペンデント音楽を結ぶネットワークプロジェクトA Melting Potを共同で組織。韓国における新世代クラブ／実験音楽の動向を紹介するアンダーグラウンドコレクティブQuick-Dieの創設者でもある。こうした活動を通じて、日本を含むアジア各地のアーティストやシーンを接続してきた存在であり、韓国と日本をつなぐ重要人物の一人としても知られている。
DJとしては、状況や空間に応じて音楽を選択する柔軟なアプローチで知られ、過去の音楽から学び、それを現在の文脈で解釈し未来へ接続することを重要なテーマとしている。自身の活動について明確な役割に限定せず、音楽を人々と共有する行為そのものを実践として捉えている点も特徴的である。
今回のSimon Frankとのツアーでは、サポート的な立場を含めながら共にDJとして出演予定。
韓国アンダーグラウンドシーンにおける重要人物の一人として位置付けられる存在である。
Simon Frank
カナダ生まれ。ニューデリーと北京で育ち、現在は上海を拠点に活動するアーティスト。
高校時代より音楽活動を開始し、2008年前後の北京に形成されたノイズ／エクスペリメンタルロックのシーンの中で演奏経験を積む。
インド古典音楽やフリーインプロヴィゼーションに着想を得たドローンやループの実験から出発し、その後はポストパンク以降の電子音楽を独自に解釈したサウンドへと発展。アウトサイダーポップの感覚とダンスミュージックの身体性を併せ持つスタイルを特徴とする。
ミニマルシンセ由来のヴォーカル表現に、アシッドハウスのベースライン、ドラムマシン、ブレイクビーツ、ダブエコー、ダンスホール的な低域処理などを組み合わせた音像を展開している。これまでHot & Cold、Love Theme、Love Research Instituteなどのバンドに参加。
Hot & ColdではGong Gong Gongのメンバーとしても知られるJosh Frankと共演し、Love ThemeではAlex Zhang Hungtai、Austin Milneと活動を行っている。
自身が主宰するイベントシリーズ「XMQ Presents」では、John T. Gast、Phuong-Dan、Tolouse Low Trax、First Hate、Yearning Kruなど国内外アーティストの公演を企画してきた。
最新アルバム『Victim of a New Age』は、東京のプロデューサーMars89によるレーベルNocturnal Technologyより2025年8月にリリースされている。
Simon Frank was born in Canada, grew up in New Delhi and Beijing, and currently lives in Shanghai. He began performing music as a high schooler, participating in the anarchic noise and experimental rock scene that took root in China’s capital around the time of the 2008 Olympics. Emerging out of experimentation with murky drones and loops inspired by Indian classical music and free improvisation, his music has gradually evolved into a unique take on post punk electronics, equal parts outsider pop and heads-down dance music. Sneered vocals straight from the minimal synth songbook get bolted to corrosive acid house bass lines, thumping drum machines, warped breakbeats, swirling masses of dub echo, and dancehall’s low-end pressure. Simon has played in bands including Hot & Cold (with his brother Josh Frank, member of Gong Gong Gong), Love Theme (with Alex Zhang Hungtai and Austin Milne), and Love Research Institute. Through his event series XMQ Presents, he has hosted performances by DJs and artists including John T. Gast, Phuong-Dan, Tolouse Low Trax, First Hate, and Yearning Kru. His most recent album, Victim of a New Age, was released in August 2025 on Tokyo producer Mars89’s label Nocturnal Technology.
DJ YESYES, also known as Daham Park, is a Seoul-based DJ, curator, and label organizer. Since 2012, Park has run the music label Helicopter Records, developing a practice that spans music presentation, distribution, and community building. In August 2025, Park began co-operating a space in Euljiro 4-ga together with the photography-focused gallery CORD, while also launching a physical record store under the Helicopter Records name.
In 2015, following connections with SOI48, Park initiated Asian Music Party in Seoul, a platform dedicated to introducing archived and contemporary music from across Asia, which continues to the present. Since 2017, Park has also co-organized A Melting Pot with Boyeon Marta Shin, a project aimed at building a pan-Asian sonic network for experimental, improvised, and independent music. Park is additionally the founder of Quick-Die, an underground collective that has presented self-organized events highlighting new generations of club and experimental music in Korea. Through these activities, Park has continuously connected artists and scenes across Asia, including Japan, and is recognized as one of the key figures linking the Korean and Japanese underground music communities.
As a DJ, Park is known for a flexible approach that responds closely to the context of each space and situation. A recurring theme in the practice is learning from the past, interpreting it in the present, and carrying it forward into the future. Rather than defining a fixed role, Park approaches DJing as an act of sharing music with people within a space.
On this tour with Simon Frank, Park will appear alongside him as a DJ, partly in a supportive capacity. Park is widely regarded as one of the important figures within the Korean underground scene.
